Thank you for choosing Hilltop Beef dba of Hilltop Hay and Livestock LLC. We’re a 5th-generation ranching family in Northern Colorado, and we take pride in raising high-quality Certified Angus Beef® you can feel good about. These Terms & Services are here to set clear expectations so you know exactly how the process works.
Ordering & Deposits
- Orders are placed directly through our website.
- To reserve your quarter, half, or whole beef share, a $200 non-refundable deposit per quarter is required at checkout. This deposit holds your share and will be applied toward your final invoice.
- Your order is considered confirmed once we receive your deposit.
Invoice Payment
- We accept credit card or ACH payments. There is a credit card processing fee.
- Once your beef is harvested, you’ll receive an invoice by email. Payment is due within 5 business days of receipt.
- Orders not paid on time may be canceled and deposits forfeited.
Weights & Yields
- Our beef is priced by the hanging weight (the weight after harvest, before cutting and trimming).
- Final packaged weights vary depending on the animal and your cutting instructions, generally yielding about 50% of the hanging weight.
- Your final invoice will reflect the hanging weight multiplied by our price per pound, and delivery (if applicable).
Processing & Cutting Instructions

Beef is processed at 307 Meat Company in Laramie, WY, a USDA-inspected facility.
Customers are responsible for submitting their cutting instructions directly to 307 Meat Company within 5 days of receiving the invoice from Hilltop Beef which includes all the information for you to submit your cutting instructions. - If cutting instructions are not submitted on time, your beef will be processed using the processor’s standard cut sheet.
- Customers will receive an invoice from 307 Meat Company after their beef is processed to be paid directly to 307 Meat Company. Invoice must be paid prior to pickup.
Pickup & Delivery
- Free pickup is available at 307 Meat Company in Laramie.
- Local delivery to Hilltop Hay & Livestock (north of Fort Collins) can be arranged on scheduled dates for $25 per quarter. Your beef is kept frozen during transport in a refrigerated trailer to ensure quality.
- Once your beef has been delivered or picked up, safe storage and handling is your responsibility.
Refunds & Cancellations
- Deposits are non-refundable.
- Once cattle are delivered to 307 Meat Company and processing has begun, orders cannot be canceled.
- Because beef is a perishable product, we cannot accept returns or exchanges.
- If we are unable to fulfill your order due to unforeseen circumstances (such as animal loss prior to harvest), a full refund of your deposit will be issued.
Quality Guarantee
- All beef is USDA-inspected and meets our high standards for Certified Angus Beef®.
- While flavor, marbling, and yield may vary slightly by animal, we stand behind the care and integrity we put into every beef we raise.
Privacy & Information
- We collect only the information needed to process your order and keep in touch with you about your beef.
- We respect your privacy and will never sell or share your personal information.
- By placing an order with Hilltop Beef, you agree that we may use your email address to send order updates, invoices, and pickup/delivery details, occasional ranch updates, recipes, and specials through our newsletter.
- You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time by clicking the link at the bottom of any email.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado. Any disputes will be handled in Colorado courts.
Updates
We may update these Terms & Services as needed. Any changes will be posted here, and existing customers will be notified if updates affect their current orders.
